Born in Switzerland, Laura grew up in the Tampa bay area from the time she was 9. Her love for architecture started in high school when she attended Dunedin High Schools’ Architecture Program. She competed in several local and state drafting competitions and in her senior year was the State Champion allowing her to compete in the National competition. Laura graduated from the University of Florida with her Masters in Architecture with a concentration in Sustainability and a minor in Urban and Regional Planning.
Laura has always had a soft spot for animals having grown up in a home where a dog or cat was always part of the family. Naturally she was ecstatic to learn about a local firm that specialized in animal shelters and veterinary clinics. She spent the first part of her career working in that field which ultimately led her to the adoption of her rescue dog Champ. Having worked in such a specialized field she gained knowledge in commercial and medical construction.
In her spare time Laura likes to dabble in the kitchen especially with the smoker. Her friends and family enjoy eating all the things that come off the smoker. Laura also known for her cake decorating and has done several family birthday cakes, even her sister’s wedding cake. Laura is passionate about traveling and running. She hopes to visit a new place every year and if she can run a race while she’s there that makes her even happier.
